There are only two type of betting books in the world, one being the sportsbook and the other is all the books written by generations of punters offering their knowledge and experiences.
The sportsbook is where the oddsmaker has done the math for you giving you a better chance to make a profit. The odds that they offer are published although you cannot look inside a sportsbook. They guard their formulas and margins well so you can only help yourself by reading some of the leading betting books available out there.
If you got to your local book store looking for these books, you will find the selection hard to chose from. To save you the money of buying too many books, go online and find out from betting forums which books are recommended by others. The book written by a well known writer will offer little of what you actually need compared to someone who has been-there-done-that and wants to tell you about it. Other books to look for would be odds guides and not memoirs and even team specific books like a coach’s biography could offer insights that might sway your choice.
